The Moor farmers used so-called half-Torfkähnen Hunt. This type of ship is 10 m long, 1.95 m wide and 30 cm depth. The sail is impregnated with tar and therefore brown. The peat boat can be sailed by one person. Today we see the brown sails of the Torfkähne again floating on the water trails in the midst of the vicious old bog. Instead of carrying peat the ships now carry sightseers.
